Moses Rus (spelling according to Ancestry.Com] In this household was one free white male age between 16 and 26; one female under 10 and one female between 16 and 26.
Not proven to be same:
1830 Census, Kentucky, Green Co., Greensburg:
Ress, Moses - one male under 5; one male 5 and under 10; one male 25 and under 30; one male 30 and under 40; one female under 5; one female 5 and under 10; one female 10 and under 15; one female 30 and under 40.
1840 Clinton County, Ohio Census shows Moses Rees as follows:
Lists him as having 2 males age 5 under 10; one male age 15 under 20; 1 male 40 under 50 - 1 female under 5; 1 female 10 under 15; 2 females 15 under 20 and 1 female 40 and under 50.
This indicates there are 4 males including the father and 5 females including the mother.
7 children total on the 1840 census. 4 children are shown on the 1850 census. David Bowen died in 1838; Sarah died in 1838; Elizabeth Ann died in 1845. This would have given him 10 children born before 1840. Thus indicating that Chalkly is probably his oldest son.

Jacob Rees age 18 male born Ohio
John Rees age 15 male born Ohio

History of Richland County, Ohio.
REESVILLE.
The town of the above name was originally called the Cross Roads. It was laid out by Moses Reese in 1857, the plat being recorded on the 11th of July of that year. The town plat originally consisted of twenty acres and seventeen and seventy-five hundredths poles of land, divided into twenty-five lots, lying along the Muskingum Valley Railroad, with the Urbana road running through it as a cross-street. It lies in the western part of the township, about two and a half miles west of Sabina. An addition was made to the town December 9, 1868, by David Puckett, and another, January 17, 1874, by C. Rhonemus. A post office was established in the town soon after the railroad was completed, and J. E. Barr installed as first Postmaster. The first merchants in the place were Jonathan and Henry Ruckers, who kept a general notion store previous to the platting of the town. Their store was afterward successively owned by Samuel Reed, Baron Douglass, William Wilson and William Lyons. Christian Rhonemus came to the town in 1.858 and engaged in mercantile business. Since then, he and his family have been prominently identified with the business interests of the town. Robert McClellan, who came to the town in 1858, was the first and only tailor ever carrying on business in its limits. There are now in the town four dry goods stores, a drug store, two saloons, two blacksmith shops, one shoe shop, a post office, a railroad depot, a church and a schoolhouse, and a population of about one hundred and fifty inhabitants, with taxable property valued at over $14,000. The town constitutes a special school district, for which a tax of over $1,000 was levied in 1881.

Generation No. 2
2. CHALKLY2 REES (MOSES1) was born Abt. 1820. He married LYDIA.
Notes for CHALKLY REES:
Chalkly Rees apparently was the son of Moses and Lydia. On the 1880 Census he is listed as being born ca 1820 - Moses and Lydia married in 1820. Also found where Chalkly's daughter Salina/Sabina was living with Almira Rees Spurgeon's family. Almira Rees Spurgeon was the daughter of Moses.
Moses had to have married Lydia Rockhill prior to 1820 if your family sheet births are accurate because you have Mose's daughter Elizabeth born in 1820. This son Chalkly was born according to the 1850 census around 1816. The 1880 census says Chalkly was born 1820.
Or, was Moses married before and had a child. He was 23 when he married Lydia Rockhill. But then he would have had two children born 1820 unless the 1816 birth for Chalkly on the 1850 census is accurate. Moses would have been 19 at the time of Chalkly's birth.
If Chalkly was born in 1820 he could have been a twin to Elizabeth Ann b. June 11, 1820. You have Moses and Lydia Rockhill marrying March 5, 1820. That date can't be correct, can it? What was your source on their marriage date?

Livestock
Yavapai County ranching and livestock production began as early as the 1860's. Some of the earliest ranching families in Yavapai County included the Fain's who originally settled in the Camp Verde area in the 1860's from Kentucky, the Jackson's who registered the third homestead in Arizona near Kirkland in the 1860's, the Rees' family also settling during the 1860's, the Ritter's who came from Texas and California before coming to Arizona in 1868, the Carter's who came from Kansas to settle in the Walnut Grove area in 1873, and the Perkins' who drove cattle from Texas to Arizona in 1900 (the above historical information was supplied by Danny Freeman, Prescott Historian).

13. WILLIAM DEWITT3 REES (JOHN2, MOSES1) was born January 28, 1874 in Prescott, AZ, and died December 17, 1923 in Cleveland, OH. He married MAZIE ROBERTSON June 27, 1908 in Clark County, IN, daughter of WILLIAM ROBERTSON and SUSAN HUNDLEY. She was born 1890 in Lexington, KY, and died February 28, 1930 in Lexington, KY.
Notes for WILLIAM DEWITT REES:
Confusion over name the Arizona information from the Alexanders lists name as DeWitt Alexander Rees
Other information indicates William
Note that the 1910 Census says his mother was born in Kansas and father born in Ohio and on the 1920 Census he states mother was born in Arizona and father born in California. William was born 1874 on 1910 census and born 1878 on the 1920 census. Both men are in the same area with a wife name Mazie and I haven't found any other matches for William DeWitt Rees which leads me to believe these are the same men. His WWI records says he was born in 1874.
