    Notes:

    We all refer to David Todd as David, However in my search and contacts with people in the Southpoint, Ohio area, he went by the name "TODD"

    The Ironton Register recorded David and Arzelia's wedding on Jan 18, 1866 (However it is recorded as David P. Brubaker and Arzelia Salome Clark)

    David served in the 188th Ohio Volunteer Infantry during the war of 1867 until it's conclusion under Captain Sumpter. {taken from "1882 Hardiest Atlas page H-27"}

    Davids Civil War Papers show him as Private of Company I - 188th Reg Ohio Infantry as of Feb 15, 1865, age 21, height 5 foot 8 inches complexion light, eyes blue, hair brown.

    David is listed in the 1900 Lawrence County Census, Perry Township page 136-136B (Sheridan). He is listed as being 57 years old

    Came across a Contract and Lease made between Daniel Brubaker and his son David T. Brubaker in the possession of Helen and Everette Leroy Brubaker.. This lease is signed by Daniel Brubaker, David T. Brubaker, and Salome A. Brubaker. It pertains with the leasing of land on the Ohio river, the upkeep of the mansion which stands there, allowing for Daniel to live on three acres of this land, the well being, and care of David Todd's father Daniel, and the 1/4 return to Daniel Brubaker on all the crops which come from this land, and also last but not least the payment of $700.00 to Julia Elkins, David T's sister over the course of 3 years following Daniels death, as part of her inheritance from the Estate. This contract was to have been binding for the entire natural life of Daniel Brubaker, so he knew that he could be cared for the rest of his life in the way in which he had grown accustom to. The date for this binding contract was June 11, 1866, two years before the death of his father.
    On the top of this contract their is a note which reads: For Value Received I hereby release all my claim in and under this Instrument and the estate herein described. Dated 1871 Ironton, Ohio. With Daniels death in 1868, I am wondering if this statement was written by Julia Ann Brubaker Elkin upon payment of the $700.00. There is no signature following the statement, but Julia is the only one of the children mentioned in the lease as to having any claim to the estate....
