    Notes:

    Annette was a school teacher, and at this time William farmed the family property in Sheridan. Both were active in the First Baptist Church, William are also listed in the 1900 Lawrence Census for Perry Township),

    White Cottage Cemetery is located in Fayette Township at the junction of Solida Rd. and North Kenova Rd

    Mrs. Annetta Winters Brubaker, 91, died Thursday night at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Harriett Davenport of South Point. Mrs. Brubaker was a lifelong resident of Lawrence County, and was born November 20, 1868, daughter of the late Amaziah and Mary Suiter Winters. She was educated in Lawrence County schools and was a teacher in the _ollard, Ky. schools.
    Her husband, William W. Brubaker, who she married December 25, 1896, preceded her in death.
    Surviving in addition to Mrs. Davenport are three other daughters, Mrs. E D Ellison, of South Point, Mrs. J A Miller, of Thurman, O., and Mrs. Homer Strothers of Cincinnati; one son, Howard Brubaker, of South Point; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grand children and one sister Mrs. Oscar Thompson.

    Muriel was born and raised in South Point. She had been a resident of Belle Point, West Virginia for 30 years before returning to South Point in 1954. She was a charter member of the Tri State Baptist Temple and was a 50 year member of Eastern Star No. 404, South Point.

    Mary was a homemaker until all the kids were out of school and on their own. She then returned to school in Rio Grande. Records at Rio Grande show she graduated 6-3-62. She was a worker. She cooked, canned, worked in the garden picked berries, made jams and jellies, washed, ironed, made apple butter, mended, cut the grass at the farm. She sang in the choir in the First Baptist Church of South Point, (Ironton) and a past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star and a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. She graduate of Rio Grande College and a retired school teacher.

    Mrs. Mary B. Miller, 82, of Rt 5 South Point died Sunday at King's daughters Medical Center, Ashland Ky after an illness of one week.
    She was born Sept 5, 1902 in South Point a daughter of the late William and Anetta Winters Brubaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of South Point and a Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star and a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. She was a graduate of Rio Grande College and a retired school teacher. On may 10, 1923 she married John A. Miller, former Superintendent of Ironton Schools, who preceded her in death April 17, 1963
    Survivors include three daughtersk Mrs. Betty Stilton of South Point, Mrs Bill (Ruth) Prichard of Fairborn and Mrs. Don (Gail) Shaw of Campsville, Ky; two sons, John H. Miller of Thurman and William Miller of Reynoldsburg; three sisters, Mrs. Harriett Davenport, Mrs Muriel Ellison and Mrs. Boneva Cooper all of South Point

    Howard Brubaker, 64, of Rt 1. South Point, died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday en route to a hospital. He had been ill for several years.
    Born at South Point, he was a sone of the late William W. and Annetta Winters Brubaker. He graduated from South Pint High School and Ohio University, Athens, in 1928.
    Mr. Brubaker was a former school teacher and employe of Armco Steel Corp, where he was a foreman until retiring two months ago. He was a member of the FACA Club of Armco
    Surviving are the widow, Edra Danbury Higgins Brubaker, who he married in April 1934; two daughters, Mrs. Zane (Annette) Ritchie and Mrs James (Julia) McKee of South Pint four grandchildren; four sisters Mrs. E. D. Ellison and Mrs. Harriette Davenport of South Point, Mrs. J. A. Miller of Thurman, Ohio and E. P Scyphers of Ashland

    William married Edra Helen Higgins Danbury 10 Apr 1935, Boyd County, Kentucky. Edra (daughter of Edward Danbury and Mary Crabtree) was born 1 Jan 1909, Forestdale, Ohio; died 17 Aug 1990, Scioto Memorial Hospital Portsmouth, Ohio; was buried Highland Memorial Gardens of south Point.     Harriet was a native of Lawrence County and a member of the First Baptist Church, South Point. Harriet attended Delta Elementary School. She graduated form South Point High and attended Marshal University where she graduated in 1968. In 1927 she began teaching at a one room school at forest Dale. Her first 12 years of teaching included Hanging Rock and Coal Grove schools. She then married and lived in Florida for 10 years, and then returned to South Point where she taught at Sheridan Elementary for 18 years. She was a school teacher for 35 years before retiring.

    Mrs DAVENPORT A BELIEVER IN LIFE
    Harriet Davenport of Route 5 Box 533. South Point, is a lady who believes in living life to the fullest. "Its been an interesting period of time, from the horse and buggy days to the atomic age. "she said. Harriet, whose home place is located directly across the street from where she now lives, is proud of her family history. Her mother was Nettie Winters Brubaker, daughter of Amaziah Winters, and William rubaker was her father. "There were seven children in the family and I was fourth from the top." she said. "My parents were good, hard-working people and both lived to be 91 years of age. They never had a pension and were never in the hospital, " Harriet said. "One of the most rewarding things I've done in my life was to care for them in my home for 11 years prior to their death" Harriet is a graduate of South Point High School, also Marshall University with a B.S. degree in education. "I walked, or got a ride whenever possible, to North Kenova, rode the ferry across the Ohio River to Kenova, WV, and then rode a street car up Third Avenue to Marshall." she said. "I boarded on winter with a family on 11th Avenue. My school days were a happy time." At the very beginning, Harriet realized she had chosen the right profession. "I loved the association with children and I loved to teach" she said. "I always opened with Bible reading and prayer." Harriet was 19 years old when she began teaching the third and fourth grade classes at Forest Dale. George Webb was the principal and William Paul held the office of Lawrence County school superintendent.

    Jonesville, Mich _ Boneva Cooper, 90 of Jonesville died Wednesday at Hillsdale Medical Care Facility in Hillsdale.
    The South Point, Ohio, native was born Jan 18, 1909, the daughter of the late William and Annette Winters Brubaker
    She was the wife of the late Patt Cooper.
    Survivors include one son, Larry Strother of Jonesvill; four granchildren and eight great grandchildren.
    Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Highland Memorial Garden in South Point.
